HomeWarming offers no-charge energy assessments and free home upgrades to eligible Nova Scotians.
Ready Refrigeration is proud to be involved in a number of programs like HomeWarming across the province to help people stay warm. Our involvement in these programs allows us to leverage our years of experience and skills in heat pump installations to Nova Scotians in need of our services.
The greatest energy-efficient solution we offer is our Daikin heat pumps which allows users to efficiently cool and heat their home by simply moving heat from one place to another with year-round comfort and cost-savings using a fraction of the energy traditional heat pumps require.
The HomeWarming program is targeted at homeowners in Nova Scotia who are living on a low income. If you qualify for the program, work will be done to determine the best energy efficiency upgrades for your home and have them installed for no cost to you.
If it's discovered that draft-proofing, insulation or other efficiency options can help make heating & cooling your home substantially more affordable and comfortable, upgrades will be installed at no cost to you.
As a preferred contractor and member of the Efficiency One network, Ready Refrigeration is qualified to provide heat pump installation services for homes that qualify for HomeWarming. If you were previously enrolled in the HomeWarming Program and heat your home with oil, regardless of whether you had received upgrades, you are eligible to reapply to the HomeWarming Program to be considered for a heat pump and any electrical panel upgrades needed to install them.
HomeWarming eligibility criteria:
- Your home hasn’t been in HomeWarming or the Low Income Homeowner Service before (homes are only eligible once a lifetime).
- You are considered low-income (visit HomeWarming.ca to see the income criteria)
- You own a single-unit home located in Nova Scotia and can provide proof of ownership. Please note: Row houses do qualify, but condos, multi-unit buildings, and rentals do not.
- Your home is your primary, year-round residence, and you don’t plan to sell in the near future.
If you qualify for HomeWarming, you may also qualify for other programs. We encourage you to look at programs offered by Efficiency Nova Scotia and Housing Nova Scotia, for example.
