Transitioning from Oil to Heat Pumps: New OHPA Program Update
In today's world, sustainability and affordability become vital considerations for the majority of people. If you decided to move from traditional heating methods to more efficient and eco-friendly alternatives, look out for programs that help make this transition smooth and affordable. Among such efficient alternatives, heat pumps offer both economic and environmental advantages.
If you live in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island, and rely on oil for heating, you may be eligible for the new program that would make it easier to switch to electric cold-climate heat pumps. The Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) program, recently launched in collaboration with the Government of Canada provides homeowners of Atlantic provinces, where the program is co-delivered by provincial governments, up to $30,000 to ease this transition, including up to $15,000 from the Government of Canada’s OHPA program and up to $15,000 from the Province of Nova Scotia, with EfficiencyOne acting as the co-delivery partner.
Nova Scotians can apply for the federal OHPA program through one streamlined application. You will have to submit necessary documents so that the program staff could verify income information and confirm your eligibility. Let us help you apply today.
