Changes to Nova Scotia Power's On-Bill Financing Program
In anticipation of the passing of bill 228—the Public Utilities Act to remove Nova Scotia Power’s ability to enter financing arrangements with customers for the supply of heating equipment.
Nova Scotia Power’s on-bill financing program is changing. In light of recently passed provincial legislation, Nova Scotia Power will no longer be able to enter financing arrangements with customers for the supply of heating equipment.

When does this take effect?
Thursday, November 10, 2022 will be the last day Nova Scotia Power accepts on-bill financing applications.
What does this mean for applications that have already been submitted for heating equipment financing through Nova Scotia Power?
Applications submitted on or before Thursday, November 10, 2022 will still be processed. That means those customers will still have the ability to do on-bill financing through their Nova Scotia Power bill if they choose to.
What if I have an assessment or installation booked over the next couple of months? Will I still be able to access on-bill financing since I’ve already committed to move forward with an installation?
If you have an assessment or installation booked and have made an application on or before November 10, 2022 you would still be eligible. If you haven’t made an application on or before November 10, you would no longer be eligible.
